Volunteer Activities at Johnson Creek Elementary

            

Johnson Creek Elementary is very fortunate to have many volunteers that come in to work with our students. Two of the volunteers are Rita Giles and Kathleen O’Hearn, retired teachers. They have been coming in to work in our kindergarten and 1st grade classrooms for many years.

The last few weeks the first graders listened to a story, Santa Claus is Coming to Town.

Each student then planned a story about an adventure of hiding in Santa’s sleigh. Mrs. Giles and Mrs. O’Hearn worked with students on the writing process. Of course, the fun part was creating a sleigh. The students then shared their stories with the whole 1st grade.

We are so fortunate to have these great volunteers in our building! Thank you Mrs. Giles and Mrs. O’Hearn for your time and efforts with all of our students.
