Johnson Creek FFA Banquet

The Johnson Creek FFA just celebrated it’s 73rd Johnson Creek FFA Banquet.  The banquet was held at the Johnson Creek Elementary Multipurpose room on Wednesday, April 15th.  During the banquet, FFA members were recognized for their involvement in the chapter, their dedication in the classroom, and for meeting the necessary requirements to receive their FFA degrees.

The banquet was planned by the 2014-2015 Johnson Creek FFA Officers.  President, Elyssah Cook, Vice President, Alyssa Layton, Secretary, Madison Graf, Treasurer, Abby Hintz, and Reporter, Samantha Woodward.

The Golden Achievement Award is presented to the most active members of the chapter, and those individuals can not currently hold an officer position.  The recipients were:   Noah Argus, Karissa Bender, Brent Berger, Elysa Doherty, Josh Kupsche, Tori Nizzi, Ean Reichert,  Aaron Walechka,  Katie Woodward and  Julian Young.

The class academic awards were presented to FFA members who were enrolled in a minimum of one semester of agriculture classes and have the best grades throughout the year.  The top academic freshmen were: Brent Berger and Madison Graf, sophomores, Elysa Doherty and Katie Woodward, juniors Karissa Bender and Elyssah Cook, seniors, Alyssa Layton and Sammi Woodward.

Brent Berger, Madison Graf, Abby Hintz, Josh Kupsche, Victoria Nizzi, and Ean Reichert each received their Greenhand Degree.  The Greenhand degree is given to those individuals in their first year of high school FFA.  The degree applicants have to meet certain criteria to receive the degree.

The Star Greenhand degree is awarded to the top Greenhand degree applicant.  The 2014-2015 Star Greenhand degree was awarded to Brent Berger.

The  Chapter FFA degree is the highest degree given by a chapter.  The members must meet criteria, and must be an active member for more than two years.  The 2014-2015 Chapter FFA degree applicants include: Noah Argus, Elysa Doherty, Aaron Walechka, Katie Woodward, and Julian Young.

The Star Chapter Farmer is given to a graduate, who is one of the top in the FFA.  They must show superior leadership skills, have a Supervised Agriculture Experience, and must have been an active member of FFA for a majority of their high school career.  The 2014-2015 Johnson Creek Star Chapter Farmer is Samantha Woodward.

The Honorary Chapter degree is given to a supportive friend of the Johnson Creek FFA and the agriculture education department.  The Johnson Creek FFA chooses an individual or family each year that goes above and beyond to support the chapter. They will receive a plaque to commemorate their commitment to the Johnson Creek FFA Chapter.  The honorary Chapter degree was awarded to Mr. Brett Perucco, Technology Coach.  Mr. Perucco has assisted the FFA, by serving as a male chaperone, assisted in the development of the FFA website, and taking pictures during the FFA banquet.

The 2015-2016 Johnson Creek FFA Officer team was installed.  The new team members include: President, Elyssah Cook, Vice President, Madison Graf, Secretary, Tori Nizzi, Treasurer, Noah Argus, Reporter, Katie Woodward, and Sentinel, Josh Kupsche.
