Each grade level performed 3-5 songs of their own choosing, on a rotating schedule in the MPR. A few of the grades created video illustrations to go along with their favorite songs, some of which were based on books.
All of the K-5 students were proud to present their own original written and illustrated books that they had created in Art class. A few students in each grade level were brave enough to read their books to a packed crowd of parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and other students.
The Kindergarteners also displayed their “Down By the Bay” video books showcasing their own rhymes, drawings and singing. This is a fully integrated activity done in the Music and Art classes each year.
In between musical performances, visitors viewed the annual Elem. Art Show and the books that were on display in the hallways.
Many even stopped in at the Bake Sale run by the Elem. Student Council. Those students helped raise $250 towards our New MS/HS Landscaping.
The evening was a great success, showing how the students had worked meticulously to bring “Books Alive” through their Art and Music.
