Third Graders Attend 'Flat Stanley - The Musical"

On Monday, March 16th, the students in third grade went to Young Auditorium on the U.W. Whitewater Campus to see the play “Flat Stanley, the Musical.”  The students were thrilled to see the musical.  Before the students saw the play, they read the book Flat Stanley.  Then, in writing class, the students drafted a letter about the book.  They then sent their very own "Flat Stanleys" all over the world.  The students are anxiously awaiting the return of the "Flat Stanleys" that they mailed out to friends and family.  In case you have not read the book Flat Stanley, it is about a young boy who is accidentally squished by a bulletin board.  Other than the fact that he is flat, Stanley has been given an okay from his doctor to return to his normal activities.  Stanley soon finds out that he can slide under doors and in-between sidewalk grates.  He even gets to visit his friend in California, by being sent through the U.S. Mail.  The students have been working hard on this project and were excited to see the play.  If you get a chance after spring break, please check out the "Flat Stanley" bulletin board in the main hallway outside of the third grade classrooms to see all of the places our "Flat Stanleys" have visited.
