Johnson Creek Elementary School won a mega school supply gift basket for participating in the Mr Pig’s Healthy Food Choice Challenge. Mike Day, manager from Jefferson’s Piggly Wiggly presented the basket to Mrs. Cyndi Braunschweig and Ms. Tricia Wagner for leading students in participating in this contest.
The Challenge is a campaign that not only gets students to discuss balanced meals and be healthy, but gets them to use their creative abilities to demonstrate what they have learned about healthy lifestyles. Students in Ms. Wagner’s 3rd grade class wrote stories. Students in Mrs. Braunschwieg’s art classes drew idioms and pictures of healthy foods, and also completed a visual presentation of slides for their entry.
Johnson Creek Elementary was one of the top schools participating in the state for awards.
