The DAR Good Citizen program and scholarship contest, sponsored by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship. Students and staff at Johnson Creek High School agree that Kate Evans demonstrates a high quality of dependability, services, leadership, and patriotism. Kate’s grades reflect her dependability. Each year she takes challenging classes and earns high grades, which place her on the honor roll. She is a leader in band, and serves as a section leader. Service is demonstrated through helping in the community. For example, she volunteered at a 5K run in a local community. In addition, she is polite and courtesy to adults as well as peers. As a leader, she is also a role model to the children she babysits and younger students in our school. She works well with others and is thoughtful of their feelings. Her patriotism is shown through her unselfish interest in her family, school, and community. In school, she has been involved in the spring musical, Pep band, Spanish Club, Art Club, and Math Club.
Kate plans to attend a four year university in Wisconsin. She will major in business and minor Spanish to receive an English as a Second Language certification. She enjoys traveling and plans to study aboard. Her long term goals include becoming a buyer for a clothing store and visiting all seven continents!
