Students in 6th-8th grade learned about the maple syrup making process. Mrs. Heckel brought in several gallons of maple sap and the kids took turns filtering it into the pot for boiling down. The students were able to taste the sap at different times during the process. As they continued their regular studies, the students were able to make their own pancake and pour some fresh maple syrup over the top.
