Be a Buddy Not a Bully

                                                                

This month Johnson Creek Elementary School  has joined forces with The Buddy Project sponsored by Dean Clinic and WISC-TV.

All students and staff took the Buddy Pledge, promising to:

• Be a buddy not a bully
• Not let my words or actions hurt others
• Report any bullies to a trusted adult

 Students and staff were given a pledge card and an orange wristband to start our campaign for kind, safe, responsible and respectful behavior. Teachers will continue in our efforts to work on empathy and good relationship skills with all of our students.

As parents, we encourage you to talk to your child about bullying and what it takes to be a buddy, not a bully. Start a conversation with your child about:

• What is a bully?
• What do you do if someone is bullying you or a friend?
• What can you do to be a buddy?
