DPI Recognizes Johnson Creek as School of Merit

The Johnson Creek Elementary school has been recognized by the Wisconsin Department of Instruction and WI RTI Center for their work in Behavioral and Academic transformation to meet the needs of students starting in 2011- present.

"It is wonderful to be recognized with 24 other schools in the whole state of WI for their hard work, dedication and perseverance to meet the needs of students no matter what it means for our instructional practice," said Lisa Krohn, Director of Teaching and Learning.

Below is a description of the schools they are looking as well as a site where schools recognized are housed.

The Wisconsin RtI (Response to Intervention) Center recognizes schools each year for their implementation of the Wisconsin RtI framework in behavior (PBIS) at the universal level (tier 1) and for reading and mathematics for all levels of support; universal, selected, intensive.
The purpose of this recognition is to:
  • Celebrate and recognize the schools' hard work to implement and sustain the Wisconsin RtI framework system-wide;
  • Promote Wisconsin’s vision to address the needs of all students through the use of an RtI framework;
  • Showcase examples of the Wisconsin RtI framework implementation throughout the state;
  • Promote school-to-school sharing of practices.
