On Thursday, October 24th, the Johnson Creek staff will be participating in a multi-district inservice taking place at Lake Mills High School. Schools attending include: Johnson Creek, Lake Mills, Deerfield, Waterloo, and Marshall.

This year our inservice features Dr. Tony Frontier, an educator and teacher at Cardinal Stritch University. His message is specific to instructional practices and building student engagement. The topic he will be speaking to is titled "Becoming an Expert Teacher; Linking Reflective Practice and Deliberate"

Staff will begin with a keynote address in the auditorium followed by three breakout sessions. Dr. Frontier will lead a breakout session along with another guest speaker Krista Moroder. The third session will be the content/grade collaboration session.

Staff will also be bringing along content ideas for sharing during the collaboration meetings. This may include samples of special projects, creative ideas for the classroom, technology integration ideas, useful resources, etc. Staff will be brining their own technology to share these resources, take notes, as well as learn more about incorporating the technology into the classroom.

We are pleased to continue this multi-district professional development collaboration. We understand the value of having educators of similar size districts come together and also enjoy the benefit of having quality guest speakers.
